David Beckham captain's armband to lead Trinidad and Tobago

The England national football team, the Italian Fabio Capello, appointed today as a captain David Beckham for the friendly against England tomorrow.

This will be the first occasion in which the former player of Real Madrid Spanish holding the captaincy from defending the colours of the Los Angeles Galaxy.

With Beckham, Capello appoints the fourth captain in as many presentations, as they did before Steven Gerrard in the 2-1 victory at Switzerland; Rio Ferdinand in the 1-0 defeat to France, and John Terry in the 2-0 victory over the United States.

Beckham does not carry the armband from the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Germany-2006, when it was eliminated by Portugal.

The former Manchester United midfielder was captain in 57 opportunities.
