BECKINGHAM PALACE, IN DANGER
The British mansion of David Beckham and his wife, Victory, well-known in the Kingdom United like the “Beckingham Palace”, could be seen affected by a city-planning plan.
The construction of 10,000 houses in Sawbridgeworth, in the county of Hertfordshire (South of England), will force to construct a highway that could cross the immense property, of almost 100,000 square meters, that the pair has in that English locality.
The layout of the highway will still not be decided and the works will not begin until 2007, but Nigel Clark, secretary of the campaign “Stop Harlow North” against that promoter of houses, affirmed today that it is possible that she passs by the property of David and Victoria.
“In the worse one of the cases it would be possible to be forced (to the pair) to sell the property”, explained Clark, who hopes to obtain all the support of the Beckham for his campaign.
“We would like to have their support. If he is not in his garden, he will be in the one of others”, warned. A spokesman of the multimillionaire marriage said that they are conscious of the “threat” that undergoes its British residence but that they will not comment out any on the matter, because still lack time so that a decision is taken.
This is not the first time that the Beckham have problems with the authorities of Hertfordshire, that in January threatened to the pair throwing the enormous castle of games of their children, Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz, installed in the garden of the mansion.
The “toy” of the small ones, that it has more than 30 square meters, a tower and a drawbridge, did not fulfill the city-planning exigencies, like the medieval stone chapel that David and Victoria raised in their property year the past. In that occasion, the works of the religious building were paralyzed during a time until the pair obtained the necessary work permission.
