Former England captain Beckham and U.S. international Landon Donovan will be the main attractions the extraordinary game that is played at the Newcastle International Sports Center on November 27, the third time the Galaxy traveled to Australia in four years.
"This is fantastic news for football fans and for tourism in Hunter," said Jodi McKay, Minister for the Hunter region in New South Wales, the team's Web page.
"The phenomenal global interest in David Beckham, Landon Donovan (...) and the LA Galaxy means Newcastle Jets who will be the focus of attention for sports enthusiasts around the world, "he added.
The agreement could provide a windfall for Jets, whose future was only secured when the new owner Nathan Tinkler has signed a license agreement to extend the club's A-League until 2020 earlier this month.
The future of the Jets had been in doubt before Tinkler took after the Football Federation Australia would provide financial assistance to the club last month.
